Welcome to Nathaniel's Of Colorado

In the small ranching town of Mancos, Colorado, on Grand Avenue, resides Nathaniel’s Hat Shop. Owned and operated by Native American Master Hatter Nate Funmaker, hats are still constructed on vintage equipment using centuries-old, hands-on craftsmanship techniques.

Nate has been handcrafting hats for nearly twenty years and his skills can be readily seen and felt in the finished product. Nate’s hats are renowned and treasured for their high quality furs, durability, and beauty by celebrities (like Josh Bernstein in "Digging For The Truth" and Will Smith in "Wild, Wild, West"), ranchers and just plain “hat folks”.

Have you heard about The Next US? If not, join us on their 'journey into the heart of America to find those who are thriving while supporting high standards of community, sustainability, ecology, and cultural evolution'. Through a great stroke of luck, and perhaps divine guidance, they stopped at the hat shop on their way through Colorado and found their next great story in Nate and his business. Check out the video episode featuring Nate and his apprentice David Franks as they share the philosophy, integrity and passion that is Nathaniel's of Colorado.
